Lolade Ososami is a Partner in the firm’s taxation, corporate advisory, compliance & investigations, mining and oil & gas teams. She advises on the tax aspects of diverse commercial transactions in various sectors.
Lolade is an expert in the legal and regulatory framework for international investment in Nigeria and advises on diverse domestic and cross border commercial transactions across various sectors. As part of her corporate and international tax advisory work, Lolade provides support to foreign investors, tech giants, conglomerates, small and medium enterprises, start-ups and high net-worth individuals. She also regularly advises on corporate restructuring, joint ventures, company acquisitions and private placements.
Lolade has advised on transactions relating to mineral rights acquisitions, mineral exploration of ferrous and other base metals including iron ore and cobalt, and mine development projects in Nigeria. She contributes to the Mining in Africa Legal Database, an online resource for investors, financiers and developers in mining. She has contributed to policy reforms in the extractive industry, especially from a fiscal perspective. She was a member of the Fiscal Framework and Revenue Management Syndicate of the Legislative Framework for Petroleum Industry Reform, organised by the House of Representatives of the National Assembly.
Lolade has authored several articles on taxation and is a contributor to the Transfer Pricing Law Review, and has facilitated several workshops and knowledge sharing events. In 2019, Lolade in partnership with Prism Chambers, a Mauritian law firm, organised and anchored a workshop on Common Reporting Standards. In 2020 she also facilitated a round table on ESG regulations in the Nigerian mining sector at the Nigerian Mining Week.
Lolade is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria; the Vice-Chairman of the Taxation Committee of the Section on Business Law of the Nigerian Bar Association; a member of the Tax Committee of the International Bar Association and a member of the International Fiscal Association.
